Today, I am going to share with you the 5 essentials I like to include in each of my winter capsule wardrobes.
As snow flurries down, it seems apt to write a post about the five essentials I recommend that you include in your winter capsule wardrobe. These are the pieces which I wear every single day in the winter months. They are practical and keep you warm and, if you choose classic pieces, you will look stylish too. Plus, many of these are on sale right now!

So, without further ado, here are my top five:
1. Thermals
Yes, they may make you think of your grandad but, if you really want to be cosy and warm in the winter time, you will need a set of thermals. Fortunately, modern fabrics mean that they are warmer and thinner than ever (no one will even know that you are wearing them!). I like Uniqlo’s Heattech range for those exact reasons. Here are some similar ones.
2. Hats
Wearing a hat really makes a difference to how warm you feel outside, plus it will protect you from the rain, sleet, snow and wind too. A hat is also small and light-weight enough that you can throw it into your bag so that you have it when you need it. I’ve included my favourites from this season below.
3. Winter coats
That first impression is all important and, in the winter months, your coat is often the first item of clothing anyone else will see. Plus, they are also crucial to keeping you warm. As coats tend to be a more expensive purchase and one that you will hopefully make once every few years, go for a classic style in a neutral colour such as black, grey, navy or camel (any lighter and it will get really dirty very quickly if you are wearing it every day). Here are some of my top picks this year.
4. Ankle Boots
These are both practical and stylish for the colder winter months. You can wear them equally as well with jeans as you can with skirts and dresses. I’ve included some of my favourites below.
5. Warm & snuggly jumpers
When it’s cold and bleak outside, it’s especially important to wear something which makes you feel good. A warm and snuggly jumper will do just that. Pick eitiher a) one that’s in a simple design, neutral colour and very soft or b) one that’s more colourful in a classic and timeless style. These are my best picks for you.
Make sure that you have all of the above items in your capsule wardrobe and you will be toasty warm this winter!
