Today, I'm going to show you how you can wear one little black summer dress 5 ways.

As we all know, every woman needs a little black dress in her wardrobe. In fact, I would recommend that you have one for the summer and one for the winter.

If you pick a little black dress which is quintessentially you, you will always have a dress that you can wear.  And through layering and accessorising, you will be able to style it in so many different ways.

Today, we are going to look at how you can easily style one little black summer dress 5 completely different ways.

The story: purchasing a little black dress

So what inspired today's post?  Well, the purchase of a little black dress of course!   Are you sitting comfortably?  Ok, let me begin.

The story starts last summer time when I discovered that my trusty, classic, cotton white summer dress no longer fitted me.  So when I wrote my wardrobe wish list for 2019 (and you can read that blog post here), I added a white summer dress to it. I wanted something classic, in linen or cotton and with a modest cut so that I could wear it for a variety of occasions.

This summer, I have literally scoured everywhere for one but, so far, I haven't found The.Perfect.One.  One that I can dress up for special occasions but equally wear everyday in the city or more casually on holiday. 

Fussy, I know!  Sometimes, I can be searching for the perfect piece literally for years...and then it will show up in the least expected of places. And having searched high and low for it, I know instantly that it is the 'right' piece.

In the meantime, during my 'window shopping' a couple of weeks ago, I stumbled upon a great little summer black dress from Boden.  While it wasn't on my wish list for this year, I decided to swap it out for the white dress, which I now plan on adding to my wardrobe next year.

A little black dress for summer?

When I first tried it on the store I was hesistant about purchasing a black dress for summer. When the sun is beating down, a black dress is probably the last thing that you want to be wearing. The more I thought about it however, the more reasons I could see why it was in fact a Very.Good.Little.Buy:
