Updated: May 24, 2020

Each season, I will be posting an Edit of my top clothing picks. You can either shop it directly or use it as inspiration for your own capsule wardrobe for the coming season. Today, I am sharing with you La Rose Edit for Autumn 2019 (you can view it here).

Autumn

Autumn is just around the corner - the mornings and evenings are starting to feel fresher, there are orange leaves flutteirng the ground and the days are getting shorter.

I am looking forward to crisp walks with the leaves crunching under foot, as well as snuggling under knitted blankets with a good book and mug of in hand. How about you - what are you looking forward to this autumn?

As for your wardrobe, it's the time of year when you can really go to town with layering - with lots of shirts, jumpers, jackets, scarves and boots.

I hope that you have them at the ready and, if not, don't worry, I am here to help!

Inspiration + Trends

In my two recent blog posts, I have taken you through how to gather inspiration for your autumn capsule wardrobe (see here) and the trends for this coming season (see here). Now its time to put all that good work into practice and come up with our capsule wardrobes for autumn.

La Rose Edit: Autumn '19

I've started by creating for you La Rose Edit for Autumn 2019. It is effectively a mini-capsule wardrobe for autumn, which uses the following colour palette:

You can visit the full Edit here.

Use what you have already!

While the Edit is shop-able, you probably have lots of very similar pieces in your wardrobe already, in which case, you can use what you have.

There’s absolutely no need to buy anything new. The links are there in case you want to add one or two new pieces to your wardrobe to give it a refresh.

Tweak it

You can absolutely tweak the Edit:

  • If corn flower blue isn’t your thing, swap it out for maroon or khaki or another accent colour of your choosing.

  • If you don’t like wearing trousers, swap them out for skirts or dresses in those colours.

Mini capsule wardrobe

As I mentioned above, the Edit is effectively a mini capsule wardrobe. That means that all of the pieces easily pair with the others, allowing you to make multiple outfits.  How many do you think you could make from just these 12 items?

The Basics Edit

Don't forget that I also have an Edit for the 12 core basic pieces I believe are essential to include in any wardrobe.  If you'd like to make use of that as well, you can visit it here.

Next few weeks

Over the next few weeks, I am going to take you through exactly how to build your own capsule wardrobe, step-by-step and with lots of pictures. I am going to be the guinea pig so you can see exactly how I do it!

In the meantime, if you'd like to learn more about capsule wardrobes, you may want to read one of previous blog posts like Why create a capsule wardrobe? or Capsule wardrobe basics: white or black or How to style one dress x 5 ways. You may also want to visit my online shop to buy and download my 'How To' ebook.

I hope that you have a really super autumn!
