This year's motto: "on track"

Forget New Year's Resolutions, today I am going to share with you my motto for 2019.

January is classically the time of year for setting New Year’s Resolutions. This year I’ve decided to set myself five goals (e.g. exericse 3-4 times a week, read a book a month etc.), rather than resolutions per se. My five goals are now pinned to my fridge and I’m intrigued to see how I progress with them during the year.

I’ve also noticed a trend this year for people to set themselves a mantra or motto for the year, rather than New Year’s Resolutions. So, as well as setting my five goals, I’ve chosen a motto for the year, which is:

There’s a lot that I want to do this year and the only way that I’m going to do it is if I break those goals down into bite-size pieces and work through each bite-size piece at a time.

I plan to use this motto as an anchor (saved as an image on my phone) so that, when I get stuck, I have something to refer back to and to remind me WHY all of the time, effort and perseverance will be worth it in the end.

It’s a new idea. I plan on giving it a go. And I’ve love to report back to you next January about how it works for me over the course of 2019.

Happy New Year!
